- Eric Clapton Concludes 2008 Summer Tour In Monaco
- Eric Clapton performed the second of two concerts at Monaco's Sporting Summer Festival on Saturday, 23 August ending a 27 date Summer Tour which started in May in the United States. The tour visited nine U.S. cities; two each in Canada and Ireland; three in England and ten European cities playing before thousands of fans. Eric opened with "Hoochie Coochie Man" and two songs he recorded with Derek and the Dominos back in 1970: "Tell The Truth" and "Little Wing." From there, the set list, which was changed from the previous evening, had lots of blues and songs from his back catalog. Although EC delivered his hallmark guitar solos throughout, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II turned in some top-notch solos, particularly during "Little Queen of Spades." And just like the earlier nights on the tour, long-time bandmember Chris Stainton delivered several killer keyboard solos. Standout numbers were "Little Wing," "Driftin," "Got To Get Better In A Little While" and "Cocaine". Read entry

Eric stepped onstage at 10:30PM and the show ended at the stroke of midnight. The set was changed around quite a bit to fit the 90 minutes allotted by the Sporting Summer Festival. After opening with an unusually short version of "Layla", the band continued on with solid renditions of "Hoochie Coochie Man" and "Here But I'm Gone". The stand-out number of the evening was "Got To Get Better In A Little While," which featured excellent solos from EC and bassist Willie Weeks. Read entry

- Eric Clapton and His Band continued on their trek around Europe on the final leg of the Summer 2008 Tour. One fan in attendance checked in with Where's Eric! to report that the concert in Munchen, Germany on 17 August ranks within the very best EC concerts she has ever attended.... it was "concise, fierce and simply stunning". EC was in excellent form while Doyle Bramhall's supporting guitar work was also top notch. Chris Stainton delivered terrific keyboard solos. - Eric Clapton - Berlin Concert Details
- Eric Clapton and his band returned to Berlin, Germany on Friday 15 August for a two hour performance at the Waldbuhne, an outdoor venue. In Berlin, it had been raining throughout the day and the show was no exception with heavy rain throughout. During Hoochie Coochie Man, Chris Stainton's keyboard solo really challenged EC and he responded in kind, making the song one of the evening's highlights. There was great extended interplay between EC and Doyle Bramhall II during Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad. Little Queen of Spades was played a bit slower than previous nights, with wondeful "waterfall" like effects in Chris' solo. Towards the end of Chris' solo, Abe and Willie put a little jazz / swing tempo in making it absolutely top notch. An "eleven out of ten" according to some in the audience. But the big surprise of the night was the addition of Rock Me Baby during the acoustic set. Read entry
